Ms. Greeley's ESL Class Page

Welcome
Hello! My name is Katie Greeley and I am an ESL teacher at Frank Defino Central Elementary School and Marlboro Memorial Middle School. This is my first year teaching in Marlboro Township and I am beyond excited to get to know all of my students and their families. I have been an ESL teacher for 3 years in elementary school, community college, and international settings to students of ALL ages. Teaching ESL is incredibly rewarding and it brings me so much joy watching my students progress and gain confidence throughout the school year.

I have a B.A. in Elementary Education from Susquehanna University. I also hold certifications in Elementary Education, Special Education, TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Currently, I am pursuing a Master's in Language Education and a certification in ESL through Rutger's University.

I have a huge passion for traveling and volunteering abroad which is how I found my love for teaching ESL. In addition, I spend a lot of time with my family, friends, and pets. I have a rescue mixed-breed puppy named Molly and a Siberian Forest kitten named Charles. Surprisingly, Molly and Charles are the best of friends. If the weather is nice, you'll find me outdoors doing activities like camping, hiking, kayaking, or relaxing at my grandparent's farm.

In my ESL classes, we will focus on the four major areas of the English language: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. My goal is to help build confidence in my students, increase student-talk-time, and facilitate progression in all academic areas. My classroom, just like the rest of the Marlboro school community, will be a safe space for students to embrace their cultures and differences and to appreciate and learn from those of others.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I am looking forward to a fantastic 2021-2022 school year! My email is: [email protected]

Sincerely,
Ms. Katie Greeley
