Dear Families,

Welcome to 3rd grade! I am very excited for your child to be a part of our learning community. I have been blessed to be teaching at Defino for the past 19 years. I hope to make your child’s learning experience a fun and exciting one, and I hope to instill a love of learning that will last throughout your child’s academic years.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year of discovery, exploration, investigation and enjoyment! It is my goal to provide your child with encouragement, support and patience and to create an environment that is safe and nurturing so he/she will not be afraid to take risks, make mistakes and always feel valued. Throughout the year, your child will be an author, an illustrator, a mathematician, a scientist, a historian and much, much more. 

 I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. I look forward to seeing you all soon at Back to School Night on Thursday, October 5th, where we will discuss expectations, the curriculum and answer any questions you may have about the third grade.
