Message from the Teacher
For the 2017-2018 school year, I will be coteaching with Mrs. Dowd in the Media Center.
The focus of instruction will be digital citizenship, keyboarding skills, and Google Apps for education. I will also be meeting classes in the Design lab where they will be challenged to use their imagination to create and design things.
As the keyboard becomes the primary device for inputting data into computers at school and at home, the focus of keyboarding instruction is:
--to familiarize students with the keyboard layout
--to give Elementary level students the opportunity to learn and develop touch typing skills
--to integrate touch typing skills into other curricular areas where the computer is used as an educational and productivity tool
The ability to keyboard with accuracy and speed is a crucial and essential 21st Century skill.
