Welcome to First Grade!

Welcome! My name is Caroline Tachine and I am a first grade teacher here at Defino! I was born and raised in Middletown, New Jersey where I spent my childhood 'teaching' my American Girl dolls in my bedroom. As you can tell, teaching has always been my dream and I am so happy to be here! I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education & Psychology at Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. I graduated cum laude in May of 2021 after having a blast student teaching fourth grade at PS13. One fun fact about me is that I have two dogs. They are both Labrador Retrievers (named George and Luna) who love to go swimming and eat snacks. I can't wait to show you pictures and tell you more about them!

First grade is a year filled with lots of growth, new adventures, learning and most importantly fun! I am looking forward to a GREAT 2024-2025 school year - I can't wait to meet all the new students of Room 8! Get ready for an exciting year :)
