Welcome to Kindergarten!
This is my 35th year as an educator, twenty-four of which have been in Marlboro.
I hold a Master of Science Degree with dual certification in general and special education.
I have taught Kindergarten and second through fifth grades in both public and private schools in New York and New Jersey.
I live in the sleepy little town of Keyport, a few blocks off the bay. Aside from my teaching passion, I love to read, swim, read, hike, read, go for bike rides, read, walk just about anywhere, read, visit indoor and outdoor museums, read, travel, read, learn about different cultures and traditions, read, cook, read, listen to eclectically diverse music, and did I say read? My remarkable son, Warren, lives and works in Berlin, Germany. He will be returning to the states within the next year to complete his graduate work in clinical psychology. While I enjoy visiting him in Germany, I am very much looking forward to him being closer to home :-)
A bit about my teaching philosophy...
Upon entering kindergarten, each child possesses unique strengths, an individual learning style, and diverse prior learning experiences. Kindergarten is the most important grade level in your child's school experience; it lays the foundation for all future learning. My goal is to develop curiosity, a desire to learn, an excitement for learning, and for each child to perceive him/herself as a successful learner.
I look forward to sharing in your children's successes this year!
